WOODLANDS MOTHER SHARES HER DAUGHTER’S STORY OF SUICIDE TO SAVE OTHERS

August 19, 2019

CONROE – Cassidy Hess was a vibrant, happy and healthy teenager at College Park High School in The Woodlands when she tragically took her own life at the age of 16. Now, her mother travels to spread the word that suicide is preventable. Kim Hess hopes by sharing her family’s struggles and eventual hope amongst their grief, she can save another family from this kind of pain. She started her foundation, “Cassidy Joined for Hope,” in an effort to have a real and lasting impact on suicide in our community and beyond.

It’s time to BREAK THE SILENCE, reduce the stigma and promote kindness. Sadly, the Hess family is not alone in their struggles. According to the Centers of Disease Control, suicide was the No. 2 leading cause of death in Texas and the nation for people ages 10-34 in 2017.

Join us in the Montgomery County Hospital District boardroom on Wednesday, August 21 at 6 p.m. for a free seminar about suicide prevention. It is located at 1400 S. Loop 336 West in Conroe, Texas.
