MCHD EMT to Paramedic Program:

MCHD is hiring EMT-Basic and Advanced EMT certified individuals eager for the challenge of paramedic school. Individuals successfully hired will go to a one-year paramedic program at Blinn College and work as field staff. Orientation to the MCHD system will begin in December, with classes beginning in January 2022.

Benefits (subject to change) :

  • Tuition, books, and supplies will be paid for by MCHD.
  • Hours spent in class and at clinicals will be paid.
  • Weekly allotment of paid study time.
  • Work hours compatible with school schedule.

Requirements:

  • Must be EMT-B or AEMT licensed through Texas Department of State Health Services at the time of application.
  • Must meet Blinn College paramedic program requirements, including proof of Texas Success Initiative Assessment completion or exemption in Reading, Writing, and Math prior to hire.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current Texas Driver’s license

  • Tuition reimbursement up to $6,000/yr after 1 year of employment
  • TDSHS upgrade and renewals paid by MCHD
