Montgomery County Hospital District’s Communications Center, known as ALARM, dispatches all medical calls for Montgomery County and the fire calls for the City of Conroe.  MCHD ALARM is an Accredited Center of Excellence in Emergency Medical and Fire Dispatch by the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch.

MCHD ALARM is currently one of only two dual accredited dispatch centers in Texas with both fire and medical accreditations, and among only 22 dual-accredited centers worldwide.  Our team of highly-trained professionals dispatch for a service area of 1,100 square miles, with a population of over 500,000.  They process 54,000 local calls for service a year.  In addition, MCHD ALARM manages over 4,300 calls for rural agencies through our Regional Emergency Medical Dispatch program.

Accredited centers like ours share a common goal of improving public care and maximizing the efficiency of 9-1-1 systems. The accreditation benefits everyone in Montgomery County and those participating in the dispatch process; caller, family, patient, community, responders, ancillary organizations, quality control, and others.

“Our success as an Accredited Center is because of MCHD call-takers. Their passion for excellence is what drives the MCHD 9-1-1 Dispatch Center to be an Accredited Center for Excellence and provide the best possible pre-arrival care for the residents of Montgomery County,” –Lois Clancy, Supervisor
