Education Department

Emergency health care, like all of medicine, continues to evolve at a rapid rate. MCHD provides efficient in-house continuing education for all staff. We employ two full time educators within the Clinical Practice Department. These individuals not only coordinate and instruct traditional EMS certification courses, but develop specialized, intensive curriculum to meet the quality improvement and evolving needs of MCHD.

In addition, MCHD offers initial certification course for EMT, EMT-Intermediate and Paramedic for employees and outside participants. Employees receive substantial tuition discounts. Our goal is to identify motivated and intelligent employees and groom them within the agency.   The tight job market for prehospital employees demands that large agencies develop strong employees and retain them.

MCHD provides continuing education services to a variety of industrial clients. These industrial rescue teams can have a tremendous impact on the outcome of our patients. In many cases, these team members will have significant patient contact time before the patient can be brought to a safe environment. MCHD believes that we must insure that they are capable and confident to handle such situations.

If you are interested in our educational offerings, contact the Clinical Practice office at 936-523-5191.
